The Duck-Rabbit Amber Ale is a medium bodied beer with a lovely tawny copper/bronze color. The lightest of all our dark ales, this is a great introduction to full flavored beers. This brew emphasizes malt complexity with layered caramel malt flavors. We put a lot of effort into getting The Duck-Rabbit Amber Ale just right and we’re extremely proud of the result. Enjoy!

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt is dominating. Taste is also dominated by a dry caramel malt base with light lingering sweetness. Subtle toffee notes are also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. An average session ale at best.

Dark copper colored with a thick white head. Plenty of malt throughout, with overtones of caramel candy. A bit on the sweet side, but otherwise very drinkable.

One 5 oz sample of a 6 beer sampler at 3 son’s in Wexford, nice place. Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Supposidly by the owner. Looks like ginger ale. Smells like decently good beer, no bad olfactories. No head just a tea froth. Not real bitter on the buds but does have a slight malt bitter impact. I found this beer rather easy to drink, without any rude attributes. Acceptable mild bitter finish. pours amber clear with beige head. Aroma of caramel malts. Taste malty, caramel, good roasted profile light hoppy finish and coffee touch in the middle. Smooth finish with a brown sugar / cookie dough like palate. Good stuff here.

Location: A friend of mine picked up a 6 pack of 12 oz bottle on a trip to NC. Drank this one 3/23/09.
Aroma: Nose is earthy malts, fairly faint
Appearance: Nice looking beer - thick, chalky off-white head, Dark copper/gold color, lots of lacing
Flavor: Some sweetness, lightly toasted, not much else
Palate: Light/Medium body, a little dry on the tongue
Overall Impression: Really good looking amber beer, but the nose and taste aren't up to the initial impression. I can't quite put on finger on the missing elements, but it could use some improvement.

Bottle. Red pour with a big head and moderate retention. Grainy aroma with hints of citrus and pear. Taste is almost identical with the hop bitterness slightly stronger.

Clear copper body that throws up a huge, loose head of foamy tan. Sweet malt aroma, little to no hops. Sweet, light, one dimensional, but i suppose that is the style. I prefer Ambers with more hop presence, but this one is excellent if a smooth,light, sweet ride is what you seek. Thanks to my SS for this one.

12 oz. bottle from Suttree. Best before 11/07. Pour is clear red-mahogany with a one inch off white head. Aroma of biscuit malt and some slight fruit (dried orange?) sweetness. Taste of caramel biscuit, with a somewhat smoky palate and a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. Tasted very well made, and one of the more interesting I have had in this style.

Cherry and grass aroma. I detect a bit of yeast as well. Very clear brown pour with a medium yellow head. Taste is fairly strong with cherry and banana. Nothing much is left on the palate. Somewhat distinctive.

This beer came to me in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a vibrant orange-bronze color with a huge orange-tan head. The aroma was sour, tangy and slightly vegetal with a hint of roasty malts and chocolate. The flavor was bitter, roasty, nutty and slightly vegetal with a dry chocolate and coffee undertone. The finish was long, bitter, dry and very roasty. The flavor profile was more like a porter really.
