A traditional Belgian Saison, with a couple big twists. First it was aged in former Bourbon Biggie S'mores barrels for about 6 months. Then it was transferred to a brite tank where it matured for an additional month on nearly a pound of Cherries per gallon of beer.

Keg at the Sour House. Clear dark red, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of bourbon, cherry, oak, chocolate. Taste is bourbon, oak, vanilla, peach, cherries. Medium-full bodied. Nice. 150th Three Notchd rating!

On tap at the Sour House yesterday. Pours red. Aroma is rose hips, cherry, funky malt. Flavor is odd. Tart cherry, weird funk, alcohol, wood, and almost a tomato flavor. My friend was getting the same - and he used "tomato paste" in place of actual tomato, and I suppose I agree there. The only beer from the sour house I've yet to enjoy... but perhaps it's because I hate tomatoes and that's what this reminds me of.
