The beer formerly known as Ultra, our double IPA. A nice malt backbone and warming alcohol, take a supporting role to the massive hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Distinctly American, with Cascade, Simcoe and Columbus hops, 6 different additions during the boil and then the hot wort is strained through 15# of fresh whole hops. If you like hoppy beers give it a try, if you don’t you can probably use it to degrease your engine.

Hazy amber with a medium beige head. Plenty of hops in the nose along with peach, pine, grapefruits and toasted malt. Flavor came out dry with plenty of hops, pine, grapefruits and exotic fruits. Finished dry and bitter.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is dense hoppy and fruity. Dense hoppy. Thick fruity and caramelish.

cloudy light amber smooth beige head. aroma is sweet malty, spicy and flowery, perfumy. flavor is strong malty, some hoppy bitterness to balance (dry old hops bitterness). the bitterness and the stale hops together makes it seem a bit off. No brewed or best before date on the bottle.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of St. Fun. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. Caramel in the nose - and somewhat oxidized hops. Solid body, caramel and licorice allsorts, clearly theres some hops in there but the crispiness has faded a lot - comes out more as a Barleywine of sorts. Some hop bitterness left in the finish. 171210

750ml found in Plainfield IN. Fair. Poured a copper color with a good foamy head and heavy lacing. Aroma is a strong citrus hop, plenty of lemon rind, somewhat soapy. Flavor is heavy on the resiny citrus hops, malts in the background are mildly doughy with a wee hint of caramel. Finish is strongly bitter, with a lingering grapefruit rind and just a bit of a sting from alcohol. Overall a touch on the harsh side and not very drinkable, maybe its too much ABV. I dunno.

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours brilliant clear copper bringing up tall off white head of foam. The aroma has some solid maltiness and pine hops to go along with more malts becoming mildly roasted near the end of the draw. The taste has a hit of pine hops and bitter citrus being quickly followed up by rich malts that run into knee deep flavor. Nice stuff with full rich mouth feel. The hops hang on and sting the palate with grapefruit and pine hop bitterness into the after taste.

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours hazy blonde, off white head. Aroma is yeasty Taste, malty caramel, light hops and citrus notes. Had the bottom of bottle to taste, not the best accurate review, had a lot of sediments.

750ml bottle@Pauls Hoboken#1-pours a nice rich retaining tan head that laces and hazy amber color. Aroma is somewhat sweet medium malt-caramel and equal fruit-plum, secondary/faint citrus/resin. Taste is somewhat sweet medium malt-caramel and equal fruit-plum, secondary citrus/resin hops with some bitterness. OK/mild carbonation.

Pours almost gushy with a huge creamy head of off-white over a dark orange body. Big complex aroma. Caramel and honey with a robust grapefruit hop presence. Nutty. Well balanced, forceful. Big and smooth, with lots of malt and good hop balance; they way I like my Double IPA’s.
