Half liter bottle from the brewery, 5/8/20. I needed to pick a special beer due to my job. This goes to the family that is now broken with a child in foster care despite the fact that so many different family members care deeply for her but are unable to care for her. It's odd to be in a hearing that results in every party agreeing but which is also emotionally draining due to the pain everyone expressed. And to follow that up with learning that one of my clients, E.M., passed away. What a day. So I needed something special and picked this. Poured some out for the lost. Clear red, some haze at the bottom of the bottle. Medium tan head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, cherry, vinegar, funk, some candied cherry. Taste is funk, oak, cherry, lemon, pepper. Medium bodied, lingering tartness. Nice beer. Worthy.

On tap at the brewery. Pour some medium red. Aroma is hair tonic, dried fruit, yeast, funk. Flavor is smooth red fruit - not sour, perhaps slightly tart with a sour kick at the end, green grasses, grape, light funk. Good flavor.
