Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely head like a white coffee. Nose - chocolate, toffee and grapes. Taste - fudge and honeycomb. Apples and resin at the back. A bit caramel shortbread. Palate - close tomedium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - nice beer, but definitely in the stout zone, not a black ipa for me.

Keg at Moor Taproom, Bristol, Saturday 4th February 2017 Pours black with a thin light beige head. Lovely soft carbonation, really nice in the mouth.Streaky hoppiness, a fab BIPA, the mouth gets a pleasant citrus hoppy workout, it’s roasty but not so much. Good with hoppy burps aplenty. Fra fat på Mi2 Cardinal, jan-17, etter flott Haandbryggeriet-presentasjon: brunsvart med ok skum. Mørk sjokolade, røstet malt, furunål, karamell, kaffe og overmodne bjørnebær. Ganske mild bitterhet i avslutningen. Helt passende at dette var kveldens siste, og der var bare fornøyde (og lett animerte) fjes rundt bordet.
