Keg at St Albans beer shop, St Albans, Herts. A black coloured pour with a decent beige head on top. Roasty, malty, pine aroma. Tastes the same, roasty, malty, pine, some hops and rather bitter. Decent.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Colin for the can. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Coffee streaked dark malts. Piney hop, some hop spice. Tangy dark fruits. Light semi dry finish. Decent.

Can shared in London - thanks to Cloin. Pours deep brown with a frothy, beige head. The nose holds moderate roast, orange peel, cocoa. Medium sweet flavout with ashy roast, more orangey notes, scorched earth. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced on the finish with further orange rind, bread, bittersweet chocolate. Nice CDA.
