Tap @ Waldkasino. Hazy amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, wheaty, yeasty and banana. Flavor is medium sweet. Sweet finish. 100717

On tap at the brewpub. Trübes orange goldenes Bier mit mittelgroßen weißen schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, bananig, typisch Weizen. Geschmack bananig süß, hefig, leicht phenolisch.

On tap at the brewpub. The beer in the glass very zippy, turbid, nice head. Starts mild, quite malty-yeasty, not too dry. Almost no hoppy notes. Hints of some cookies. Finish still mild, malty, yeasty. Quite drinkable. Not bad!

2L bottle @ HBF ’11 as ”Steigerwald Hefe Weizen”. Rated on 09.04.2011
Bright orange colour – couldn’t get the yeast out of that bottle. Aroma has yeasty notes, banana esthers and some citrus. Flavour is bitter in a harsh way. It has citrus, some yeasty notes, banana esthers and distant floral notes. Decent.

Draught at the brauhaus
Muddy orange-amber color, with creamy head. The spicy wheat aroma is quite nice. The body is soft, with light residual sweetness, with wheat character, but unfortunately also with too high bitterness that kills this kind of soft beer.

Draught @ Waldkasino, Waldkasino 2, Erfurt, Thuringia, Germany 99096. [ As Waldkasino Steigerwald Hefeweizen ].Murky medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, moderate yeasty, banana, bubble gum, fruity, clove. Flavour is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft. [20110425]

2 liter bottle@Helsinki Beer Festival 2011. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is mild diacetyl along with some wheat, fruits, herbs and mild yeastyness. Flavour is quite much the same ina nice balance. Finishes quite yeasty and mildly wooden.

Hefig-herber Antrunk, trotz der recht dunklen Farbe sind Malzaromen vorerst nicht auszumachen. Hopfig, stärker ist aber der Bitterhopfen präsent, der sich zum Abgang hin noch ausbreitet. Hier auch etwas malzig, was sich der Bitterkeit unterordnet. Dennoch wirkt das Bier hier harmonischer als zuvor. Bitteres Weizen mit wenig Süffigkeit. 11/10/7/9//9

Sample from 2 Litre bottle at HBF 2011. Poured copper color with a thin head. Aroma was yeast and wheat, slightly sahtilike. Flavor was wheat and some spicy notes. Quite pleasant.
