Bottled, thanks Cletus! Very dark brown, beige head. Rich coffee aroma. Mid-dry with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Spritzy with lots of chocolate and coffee. Medium bitterness. An harmonious coffee porter.

Bottle thanks to cletus. Pours with a cola brown body and a decently thick khaki head. Aroma of coffee, a bit of a earthy, spicy roast. A bit of nuts and nutshells as well. Wow, the flavor is quite lively and intriguing compared to the aroma. Still a lot of coffee, but there are some nuances to the roast. Tons of vanilla and even a light strawberry note to the roasty coffee. A bit of maple and cream. Very nice. Decently bitter finish. Dry and nearly chalky finish to the mouthfeel, medium to high carbonation for a porter.
Rerate: Its sour now. Black body, tan head. A bit sour and vegital on the nose. Flavors are sour, vegital, coffee, lactic, bad. Low 2s.

Great brew. Had some from a bottle at PJ’s (JP’s?) Pub in Burlington. Pours a dark and lovely pure black with a fluffy brown head. Notes smack of roasted malts and fresh brewed coffee. Flavor is rife with cofee notes, along with hints of chocolate and a strong malt character. Very smooth and filling. Delicious.

A deep dark porter with a thin moka head. A nice moka head coffee aroma, with butterscotch, very pleasant this time. In mouth, a dark chocolate and coffee grounds, moka, very classy. Medium bodied. On tap at Flat Street Brewpub, Brattleboro, August 2 2009.

Courtesy of kiefdog. Pours dark hazy brown with light mocha head. The nose is sweet malts, coffee beans, molasses and brown sugar. The taste is pretty full with rich coffee goodness followed by a note of roasted malts, sugar sweetness and a bit of molasses. Into the finish hops show up along with lingering malt roastiness. Wow, I enjoyed this one.

courtesy of kiefdog. Pours dark amber with tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Taste, similar malts with notes of caramel, light coffee with light hoppy finish that leaves a subtle bitter mouthfeel. Overall finish of light coffee. Good beer!

Dean’s Beans coffee Porter that is! Bomber with many thanks to RCL, thanks Ray! Fermented in the bottle and unfiltered. Creamy brown gunky stuff on the bottom of this bottle makes for a swirling hypnotizing pour. Cold black coffee smell, decent creamy carbonation. Black coffee taste that is reminiscent of Founders Breakfast. On the label it says ’natural flavors added’ this makes me a bit nervous. Bitter just like black coffee, but with a kick. Certainly comes across as being very fresh! Mild to medium bitter black coffee finish. A true black coffee experience.

Pours deep black into an English pint. Tan micro head with good retention slowly subsides with little lacing. Sour malt and coffee aromas. Thin with sour malt upfront filling out for a lasting espresso finish.
