Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pours dark brown, small beige head, Aroma of roasted malts, biscuit, toffee, light coffee, some vague fruitiness. Taste starts with an initial under-ripe plum sourness which must be the damsons (never had one!), roasted malts, some toffee and coffee, fruitiness comes back in at end with a light bitterness but its not an overly sweet beer so its balanced. Its quite a pleasant if simple porter.

500ml bottle, 5.0 % abv, bought at The Real Ale Store in Newark. Shared with Finn. Remaining off-white head, near-black in the glass, good lacing. Roasted bread on the nose, mid-sweet, inviting. Malt-driven flavours of dark bread, toffee, and a backdrop of dark fruits. Nicely roasted tail. Like it. (Hotel room, Nottingham 14.10.2022).

5.0%. Delt med Rune på rom 301, Premier Inn Nottingham Arena. Svartbrun. Høyt kremaktig skum med litt farge. Spotlacing. Søt lakrisaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken røstet malt & sjokolade. Søtlig tørr bitter avslutning.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a large billowing head of large long lived bubbles. Chocolate biscuit, plum, toast, coffee, sour cherry. Little over carbonated so feels a touch thin. Decent.

1/12/2018. Bottle from the 8 Sail Brewery Shop and shared at the 1st Kesgrave 50/50 bottle share. Pours dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and plumy/jammy dark fruits. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and a hint of tartness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, above average carbonation. Light plum finish. Too fizzy, otherwise pretty decent.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - close to opaque black but with some orange chinks. Nose - dusty malt bag. Then fudge or toffee. Taste - molasses and blackjack sweets. Palate - medium bodied, rich and sweet texture. Dry crunchy finish. Overall - the taste was better than the nose. Did not get any damson.
