Damsons have been added to give a full bodied fruitiness to the rich, complex flavours provided by the Pale, Brown & Black malts. Aroma is bitter with caramel malty tones. Flavour is malty, slightly fruity with a bitter finish.

500ml bottle from the Brewery at 4.5%. Pours dark brown nearly black with a small off white head. Coffee roast, and fruit aroma. A fruity flavour, but the damsons arenโ€™t over powering. It compliments the coffee and roasted malt also evident in the flavour.

Bottle conditioned 500ml: BBD Apr 14, poured carefully into a glass tankard at home on 20 Dec 13. Even with the careful pour I got a huge billowing pillow of tanned foam on my deep, deep brown beer (read black). The pillow soon however became a thin blanket covering. Malty molasses rule the nose and taste: semi-sweet and roasted, not burnt or toasted, just lightly roasted malts giving an even, malty feel to both the aroma and flavouring. There is some fruitiness, plums, OK, damsons too (is there much difference in taste and aroma). A farmyard feel arrived mid-tasting: in the smell and taste as the yeast became more evident with the warming beer. Different and interesting, a little โ€™home brewโ€™ in some aspects but overall not bad at all: I look forward to trying more beers from these guys.

Opaque black brown beer, small pale tan head. Light semi dry palate. A little fruit sweetness and tang. Mild dark malts but with an unpleasant burned taste. Finishes minerally. Another beer from this brewery ruined by over toasted malt.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and a bit of wood, leading to a dry finish. Thanks pinball for sharing.

Bottled (from Beers Of Europe). Very deep ruby colour, close to black, with a small brown head. Aroma is mild sour wood, soem slight toasted notes, toffee and also quite strong on raisins/plum. Flavour is much the same with also some quite bitter notes.
