Cask at the Duchess of Cambridge, London. Pours rich, black-brown with a frothy, beige head. Dark, almost burnt toast nose. Light sweet flavor with subtle dark fruits, light cocoa, raisins, grapes. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Nice condition. Moderately dry to finish, lightly toasty, with darkly toasted sugars, light dirt, purple grapes. A basic but fairly well-rounded mild.

Cask @ 12th Ayrshire Real Ale Festival, Troon 2011. Dark brown colour, tan head. Nose is light caramel, little coffee and a bit of sourness. Flavour is slightly coffee, massive biscuit, little hoppy. Not too well.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light chocolate and coffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. fruity, soft - smooth. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100804]

Cask-conditioned at the Wellington, Birmingham 31/08/10. Near black in colour with a decent, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, slightly ashy malts and dark fruit. Flavour had more chocolate and fruit, a slightly sour edge and soft, bitter finish, Very enjoyable.

Cask@GBBF2010. Deep ambery brown colour, small head. Aroma is roasted malts, some dark dry fruits as well as mild liquorice. Flavour is fruity, sour wooden notes as well as some bready and mild liquoriceish notes.

(Cask at Pembury Tavern, Hackney, London, 20 Nov 2008) Black colour with frothy, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee, dark fruit and prunes. Roasted, malty taste with coffee, chocolate, dark rye bread and hints of citrus in a fairly bitter finish. More hops than usuallly found in a mild. Fairly thin body. Nice and tasty mild.

Cask at the Dolphin Inn, Derby. Deep brown with a cream head; fruity aroma; fruity body with some roasted chocolate; long dry finish with a bitter edge. A well-made mild.

Cask at GBBF 2007. A brown beer with a thin beige head. The aorm aissweet malty, while the flavor is sweet malty combined with a roasted note.

Very dark brown with a red hue. Lasting small off-white head. Fruity and floral notes in the aroma along with some toffee. Roast and dry fruity flavour.
