Tap at the Ginger Man, Mahnattan - 30/05/12. Dark brown to black with a tan head. Toasted malt and hops, earthy, not a big nose. Taste as nose with a pinch of cocoa and some nuts. Medium body with a lingering bitter finish. Whelmed.

Black with a dark head. Roasted malts, chocolate, citrus and earthy malts, and a bit spicy. Medium bodied. Very much a light stout with a bit of extra hops. Since it’s not stupidly hopped it’s pretty tasty. Would pick it up again.

Shaker pint draft at some bar in River Run village, Keystone, Colorado. The pour is black, touches of brown, and a one inch light khaki head. The aroma is caramel sweet malt, light roast and pine hops. The taste is sweet caramel malt, shows a touch of chocolate, light touch of roast, and the pine hops throughout. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and a decently dry finish. Nice beer on a sunny day.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color, medium sized off-white head. Aroma was roasted bitterness, with a touch of earthy hops. Flavor was burnt grain, with some toasted elements, okay.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with a whole bunch of super thick white head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and citrus hops. Taste is medium bitter. Pine and citrus hops with coffee and chocolate. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, very good. Too bad there are only 2 of these in the sampler pack.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a cloudy brown with an orange hue and a gigantic shaving foam style off-white head. Sweet roasty nose. Medium body, sweet roast, heavy licorice and a solid bitterness. The hops are bitter alright but don’t really add much aromatic freshness - at least not at this stage. 200312
