Pale golden in colour with extraordinary flavour and smoothness. Whether you’re ridin’, ropin’, dancin’, or romancin’, you’ll be yelling "Yippee Ky A" after a couple of these thrilling and sensational beers. This beer now uses Sussex Bramling Cross hops for a much more subtle flavour.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe: BB Feb 2018. Poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard at home on 15th Nov 2017. Misty amber pour, off-white blanket of bubbles on top. Even though I left some liquid in the base of the bottle some sediment must have got out, or the beer was not clear anyway. Malty nose and initial taste, then off-flavours began to appear, musty, woody and semi-sour; a lesser man would have drain poured it, but I am mean and thrifty. I would rather be ill than throw beer away. This was not good. scored kindly (not too sure why).

Old rating from 2011. Malty sourish beer. Hints of grain, moderate bitter, refreshing grainy, but not deep or something special.

"Hey Broxbourne, I’ve got the 1980s on the phone, they want their label designs back". Also only mentions Pilgrim hops on the label. Pours hazy amber, thin white head, nice lacing. Aromas are yeasty, sherbet, stewed apples. Taste is stewed apples again, light citrus, light sour note, yeasty. Thin body, astringent finish. If this is the Gold I wouldn’t want to try the silver or bronze in a hurry.

Cask at The Market Porter. Pours light amber with a creamy white head. Light floral perfumey aroma. Flavor is almost incense the floral is so powerful. There’s malt underneath, but floral and fruit are so intense as to render it barely detectable. Wowser! Wife doesn’t get the florality. Hhm. Works for me.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. An unclear, golden-orange beer with a finger-thick lasting head leaving some lacings. Dusty, milkysour aroma with some lemony fruityness. Milky and sour flavor too, with pale malts and a fine bitterness. Pity the bitterness is almost the only good thing about the flavor. Medium body, dry and fizzy. This one’s off, that’s for sure, still it’s sort of drinkable, if you avoid smelling it when doing so. 110319
