Our amber ale is traditionally hand brewed with a blend of lager and Maris Otter malts hopped with both UK and American varieties to give a refreshing citrus taste.

Cask, hand pulled half pint at Guildford Arms in Edinburgh. Clear golden-amber supported by a thin, white head leaving fine lacework on the glass. Plain malty aroma. Caramel malty taste, with a decent bitter ending [24.10.2008].

Cask conditioned at Blackfriars, Glasgow, as Craigmill Strathaven Avondale. My half pint was near the end of the barrel. Deep golden colour, low head. Aroma of malts and butterscotch, some caramel. The flavour has also malts, butterscotch and caramel, but there is also a noticeable hoppy bitterness throughout. Okay.
