Cask at Archibald Simpson, Aberdeen. It pours red-amber, with a thick off-white head. The nose is a red fruit, jam, cardboard and even some Dairylea (soft cheese spread). The taste is leather, wood, earth, floral, red fruit, cheddar and some underlying sweetness, with dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A bit odd, but inoffensive.

50cl bottle. Pours amber with a nice sized, attractive head. The nose has pine and biscuits. The taste is of creamy pine, then caramel and biscuits. The palate is light to medium bodied and textured with a lovely clean finish. Overall, a really tasty session ale.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A clear, dark amber beer with an off-white head. Lots of cellar on the nose, even more cellar and then a little more cellar. Caramel too, and a faint touch of citrusy hops. The flavor too has a lot of cellar, and the same caramel and citrus found in the aroma. Medium body. Cellar, caramel and some citrus in the finish. Wow, new world record for cellar in a beer. 110318

Red-amber colour. Fairly nondescript nose. Sweet taste, not much beyond light caramel. Soporific.
