Tap at The Bishops Arms Järntorget (Göteborg). Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a thin white head and lots of broken lace. The aroma is citrus hop light metallic. The flavour is medium bitter with a fresh dry pepper spice hop palate with some light fruit. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. I’m not a fan of red ales but this had a nice hop spice kick. It’s one of the few red ales in the world that I would order again.

Draught @ Ölstugan Tullen. Pours hazy dark brownish red with a creamy off white head that slowly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is sweet and malty caramel, soap, orange zest, dark bread and minerals. Taste is sweet and bitter with caramel, grass, pine, dark bread, orange zest and metal. Mouthfeel is tiny dry, crisp and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with grass, herbs and orange zest. --- Beer merged from original tick of Red Ale on 17 Nov 2019 at 17:53. Original review text: Yesterday. Felt like something old school with plenty of “English” character to it. This definitely played its part well. Good beer!

On tap. Clear orangey brown with a small, rough off-white head. Sweetish butterscotch aroma, caramellish. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, some nutty accents and an underlying light tartness. Ends dry and hoppy. 050211
