Dunkler, süßlich weicher Malzantrunk. Moderate Würzigkeit, die Süße ist etwas zu stark. Geringe Herbe, nicht übermäßig intensiv angesichts des Alkoholgehalts. Mittellanger Nachhall. Okay. 10/9/9/8//9

Corked bottle, from the brauhaus
Hazy orange-amber color; fizzy head, reducing to a small layer. The aroma is both fruity and yeasty, some esthers. The flavor is sweet, malty and a bit fruity too, with yeast presence, and it clearly reminds me of Strong Belgian Ales, not a Doppelbock; similar to Strong Belgian Ales brewed in America, sweet and without spicy yeast. The bitterness is quite low. Pleasant, atypical.

Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, overriped fruit, yeasty, damp stain - fusty yeast. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110223]

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cloudy deep golden with an off-white head. Sweet fruity and yeasty nose. Solid body, very sweet fruity accents - a little salty - the fruitiness gets a little cloying actually. Heavy yeasty accents also. Ends sweet with no real balancing hops. The name would indicate a Doppelbock, but it’s really a Belgian type Strong Ale. 230211
