To support the ScottsLand Celebration we have introduced a new ale, which we have named The Chase.

'A moment gazed adown the dale, A moment snuffed the tainted gale, A moment listened to the cry, That thickened as the chase drew nigh;'

The start of the Chase with the hunter chasing the Stag along a route from Callander past the Lade Inn to Loch Katrine, from the Lady of the Lake, by Sir Walter Scott published 200 years ago.

To celebrate this publication, which put the Trossachs on the map for tourism, the Scottish Real Ale Shop has brewed The Chase.

The Chase is a smooth malty lightly hopped ruby red beer at 4% alcohol by volume, brewed using only natural ingredients to produce a delightfully refreshing beer.

Bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop. Amber colour, off-white head. Nose is grainy, bit of caramel, touch of citrus. Flavour is caramel malts, bit grainy, slightly fruity. Tastes a bit homebrew-ish.

Bottle 500ml. @ home.Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, vomit, wood, light to moderate yeasty, sweet meat, shoe polish notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration, caramel malt, sweet plastic - meat notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110207]
