To support the ScottsLand Celebration we have introduced a new ale, which we have named The Chase.
'A moment gazed adown the dale, A moment snuffed the tainted gale, A moment listened to the cry, That thickened as the chase drew nigh;'
The start of the Chase with the hunter chasing the Stag along a route from Callander past the Lade Inn to Loch Katrine, from the Lady of the Lake, by Sir Walter Scott published 200 years ago.
To celebrate this publication, which put the Trossachs on the map for tourism, the Scottish Real Ale Shop has brewed The Chase.
The Chase is a smooth malty lightly hopped ruby red beer at 4% alcohol by volume, brewed using only natural ingredients to produce a delightfully refreshing beer.

Bottle courtesy of Dad, cheers Dad. Consumed at home unusually having a beer on a Monday night but hey it is Loz’s birthday, Monday 14th November 2016 Pours dark amber with a large sticky and frothy white head. Fruity but with a busy carbonation, mmhhh.... a little plastic thing going on here, not great, funny aftertaste. Nope another beer that I won’t finish. A6 A3 T3 P2 Ov9 2.3

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - murky brown with a thin head which mostly disappears. Nose - nuts, toffee and astringent malt. Taste - toffee with a hint of honeycomb, astringent malt finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a dry but not too astringent finish as you get used to it. Overall - a solid bitter.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of straw, yeast, malt, and a bit of fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, bread, herbs, and wet hay, leading to a dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
