Ale rousse à la frontière des traditions anglaises et allemandes. Ronde, maltée et légèrement caramélisée. Les graines de chanvre ajoutées durant le brassage lui procurent un goût unique et original.

Amber color; generous head. Mild aroma, breadish, with very light smoke. Caramel aroma, with tones of nuts and mushrooms. Correct bitterness; the final is quite round, there is still some residual sweetness. Unexciting.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild phenolic and roasted malty. Thick malty flavoured and oily mouthfeel. Adding a distinct smoke note toa slight phenolic and malty base. Light spiced finish.

Bottle thanks to Cletus. Pours with a tan head and a slightly hazed amber orange body. Aroma of nuts, nutella, caramel/toffee, rye and light fruit (that I cannot place). Taste is dry and smokey, with hazelnut and pretty bitter. Lightly estery. Creamy, but thin mouthfeel. Not as bad as the ratings would have me believe.

Bottle@Quebec City. Thick bronze beer with a strongish head. The aroma is sweetly smoked, and the flavour is gently smoked. Overall a nice gently smoked beer with a malty and bitter finish.

Slightly hazy deep amber coloured body with a nice small white head. Aroma of malt, sugars, spice and some hops. Strong malt and caramel flavour. Medium-bodied; Strong caramel finish with a good hop taste too. Aftertaste still somewhat bitter but mostly malty. Overall, strong, but shows a bit more class after a few sips. I sampled this beer on draught from Dieu Du Ciel in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 20-Fevrier-2006.

Medium copper ale with a small ring of bubbles - slightly fruity aroma, with some unremarkable malt sweetness and some mineral character - soft in the mouth - subtle flavor, bordering on thin - some bready character, background herbal flavors, a hint of nuts, some leafy character - it’s really rather unforgettable - in fact, I just swallowed a sip and I’m having a hard time remembering what I just tasted - some bitter flavor in the finish (hemp?) - boring, but I don’t detect any real flaws.

Good, but fast disappearing amberish head over amber-orange beer. Spicy, caramel, hard gingerbread, and a herb that I cannot place, innocent that I am. Saltish flavour, on a very caramelly-sweet background. Milk chocolate with hazelnuts in the palate, as well as some hops. Not at all empty for such a light beer, slick. Remarkable beer. Light, but not in taste. Masterful brewers. GRAND MERCI POUR TOUT LE BAZAR A SYLVAIN DUPUIS ET FRIENDS

Bottle: Poured a medium amber color ale with a nice foamy head with medium retention. Aroma of herb and dry malt characteristics. Taste consists of herb and malt with a dry ending. Body is about average with some good carbonation. I have to admit that this one left me on my appetite and didn’t make a big impression on my taste buds. This brewery has definitely some better beers to offer.

Small offwhite head with larger bubbles. Amber body. Sweetish lightly roasted malty aroma. Sweetish-dry cinnamon and malt taste, slightly roasted and spicy, with a faintly metallic background. Dusty caramel notes. Dry, spicy malty aftertaste with faint papery notes. Nice, balanced session beer. (0.275l draft.)
