A new Canadian Province tick thanks to Kevin! Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a large creamy beige head that dissipates slowly leaving nice lacing. Aroma is pine and caramel, with a bit of cardboard. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Full bodied and creamy in the mouth.

Location: Draft at Maxwell's Plum, 7/7/13

Aroma: The nose is fairly hoppy, with some citrus fruit, pine, and some caramel malts
Appearance: It pours an orange-amber color, with a decent sized beige head on it
Flavor: The flavor is on-style, with a decent sized malty sweetness and plenty of hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, it has some stickiness, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid-to-good example of the style. It is right on from a component perspective. This isn't an amazing example, but it solidly made.

Smells great. Lots of citra hops in the smell with a little malt. Not quite an imperial IPA as the name says, but pretty good. Pours amber orange with great lacing and long lasting head. Bitter finish with a little malt to give the palate some meat. Bottle.

(500mL from LCBO) Pours a hazy amber with an inch of dense whitish head that left a little lacing. Aroma a blend of citrusy hops flavours, a bit of pine and a fairly strong caramel malt note underneath, a little grainy. In the mouth a bunch of citrusy hops present initially, followed up by pine resin and caramel malt flavours letting just a bit of sweetness through. Dries down rapidly with bitter, astringent hops and a bit of a metallic tang (from the lack of filtration?). Mouthfeel medium-full, sticky, soft carbonation, little detectable alcohol. A good IPA but not up to US standards, a little muddled and not as fruity as I like.

This IPA poured a cloudy golden colour with a nice, big, off white, foamy style head. To the nose there are scents of pineapple, lemon and grapefruit citrus, cream and cooked veggies. First taste was very sharp with hopps, creamy mouthfeel and bitter as bitter gets. Flavours of spruce, citrus and pine sap make this ale a real mouth number. Finish is bitter as hell with a light tea flavour lasting after the hopps subside.

Hazy red-amber color; medium head. The aroma of hop is very piney. The body is lean; good toffee flavor, some caramel too, with low sweetness, followed by strong bitterness (maybe too much), resiny; and there is some lack of sugars overall. Aggressive.
