Draught at Bishops Järntorget, Göteborg. On March 29, 2011Black color, light brown head with hints of yellow. Sweet, buttery, fruity, candy, berry scent. Sweet, some smoke, a bit acidic, coffee taste. Dry coffee aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.I can for sure imagine many caliming this beer to be too sweet, it almost is even for sweetheads such as me. Still nice though, but perhaps a small one is enough at the moment.

Draught@Bishops Arms Vasagatan, Stockholm. Quite much pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, coffee, rather bitter and glueish notes along with some mild toasted notes. Flavour is brutal roasted malts, sour black strong coffee as well as rather bitter and dark fruity. Quite balanced, but a bit harsh with the bitter hoppyness clashing with the rest.

On tap. Pours black with a vague tint of red and a creamy light brown head. Hard roasted chocolatey mats in the nose. Quite a rich body, again very chocolatey - dark and bitter chocolate - there’s a light vanilla-like sweetness and a touch of dried dark fruits as well. The finish has a discreet malt bitterness. Pleasant and well balanced. 081210

On tap. Pours black and opaque as original sin with a creamy light brown head leaving a fine curtain of lacework. Spicy coffee aroma. Quite full-bodied, sweetish roasted malt and distinct bitter coffee and vanilla. Sweet roasted malt and sweet licorice in the finish with a fairly burned bitterness lurking underneath. 091110
