Cask @ 3 Judges. Mahogany colour tan head. Aroma is light roasted malts and a bit of toffee. Flavour is roasted malts, light fruity, hint of coffee. Slightly sweet and bitter. Superb drinkable.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 10, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, chocolate, nutty, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100803]

Cask@GBBF2010. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is fruits, wood, earth and some nutty and grassy notes. Flavour is fruits, wood, floral hops as well as mild earthyness and some mild toasted notes.

From cask. Pours dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is roasted malty. Fruity, malty and light roasted. Bitter and fruity. Fruity finish, light sweet.

Gravity cask at Pig’s Ear festival on 2nd December 2009. Red with ladting yellow-tinged head of foam. Strong caramelly malt with nuttiness and one or two savoury notes. A slightly saline mouthfeel. A refreshing and engaging mild.

Half pint during an early afternoon drinking session at Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Dark body with ruby highlights. Decent off-white head. Light roasted smell of dark malts. Mild taste of coffee beans, slightly roasted. Foamy mouthfeel. Thin bodied [24.10.2008].

(Cask at The Bridge Inn, Laxey, on 2008-07-04) Dark amber. Clear. Small dense tan head. Malts in nose. Medium palate with some carbonation. Yeast, malts, liquorice and hops in taste. Bitterness in aftertaste.

Cask gravity at Rare Breeds BF 06. Excellent mild. Refreshing, ruby mild, lovely malts and then bit of hop bite on the end. Top notch. Not huge flavours but well balanced and some toffee on the end.
