My third and final beer at the Pheasant, Wellington, Shropshire on 14th June 2014: cask half-pint. Slight haze to the dull golden body, a white head. I thought this a little bland, a mild hop citrus note here and there with a light maltiness in places. I can’t get as excited as some do with Thornbridge, beers like this are the reason.

Cask at Black Door. Clear golden-amber color, good steady off-white head. Citrusy flowery aroma, also some maltyness. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Citrusy light flavor. Quite fruity real ale. Sessionable.

Cask at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, Norra Vallgatan
Hazy blond color with a thin persistent head. Light aroma of malt and rubber. Soft mouthfeel, rather weak and dry; simple malt flavor, with a papery impression, low bitterness, not much hop quality.
Not as crispy as promised by the badge, with not much interest; what is the target?

Cask, handpump at The Sportsman, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Friday 14th February 2014 Pours gold slim white head, superb looker. Little washing up liquid, some soft sweet lemon, perhaps a tiny bit thin but good lasting bitterness and damn a tasty beer. Amazed I’d never had this. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.7

Cask at the Bishops Arms (Gustav Adolfs Torg) Malmo. Poured a very murky light amber with a bubbly white head. The aroma is light malt. The flavour is weak bitter with a watery light hop, weak malt palate. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Not good at all. I’d like to think it just didn’t travel well.
