Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Pours a hazy dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy and lacing beige head. Smoky, roasty nose. Medium body, sweet roast and heavy smoke. Has a slightly tart edge. The tree tomatoes really come through... 200312

Bottle shared by Butters at the 16th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 11/5/11. Pours a clear brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of smoke, chocolate and brown sugar. The taste is smoke, chocolate, roasted malts, plum-like fruit notes and a bit of an acidic note. Medium bodied. Interesting.

Bottle from Total Wine in Roseville, CA. Pours dark brown with a 3 finger creamy light tan head. Aromas of dark malt and something like smoked fruit. A spicy aroma. Med body. Flavor is sort of woody, sort of veg, sort of smoke, sort of dark malt. And sort of spicy. Not saying this is the greatest beer ever, but it has got to rank in the top 100 of truly innovative beers. Kudos to Epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dogfish? Ah, you always knew they were crazy.

Light brown color. Light hint of smoke and tomatoes and moderately hopped nose. Light mouth, a bit of sourness. Fairly smokey mouth, moderate bitterness. Tomato flavors in the background. Tries to be balanced, but there is just too much going on and the beer becomes muddled. Moderate bitter smokey finish.
