Three 500ml on tap at Nordpolen Kro (very cozy pub) in Vardø during a conference on early modern witchcraft. Straw yellow with some lasting foam. Surprisingly nice floral nose. Grassy and malty flavour. Light hoppy finish.

From tap at Rødbrygga, Stokmarknes, Norway 16 Jun 06. Pale golden. A small white head. Hoppy smell. Hoppy and fruity aroma. A lasting pleasant bitter aftertaste. Far better than previous experiences with the bottled version.

Bottled. Clear, pale golden with a small white head. Malt, grain and some hops in the aroma. Weak malty taste with some floral and grainy notes. Thin body and a light hoppy and grassy finish. (060321)

Medium, white, coarse-laced head over clear pale yellow body. Sweetish, grassy aroma with notes of butter. Mild, malty taste with notes of grass and apple, with a faintly bitter, soft aftertaste. Not at all bad, but mostly devoid of taste, and so boring, boring, boring.

Bottled (BB 05/2006)
Pale yellow, small white head. Light papery hop aroma. Malty, buttery, sweetish. More or less typical pale lager, boriing but ok. Not a pils.

Rerate, 500 ml can, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, large white head. Sweetish aroma with floral and herbal notes. The flavour is medium sweet and fairly sugary for a pilsener, with far too little bitterness. Losing a couple points, I’m afraid. Original rating: One of the better Norwegian pilseners. Easily drinkable, but could with advantage be more heavily hopped, to balance the flowery and fruity sweetness.
