Pours a nice golden, copper-yellow with mid-sized head. Somewhat muted floral/hop aroma. Flavor is dominated by the hops--primarily bitter, not so much citrus. There’s a bit of a chemical aftertaste, almost like rusty or iron-heavy water. A decent beer.

Perfect hazy copper coloured body with a nice glow of orange and a dense, three centimetre tall tan head - brilliant! Aroma of fresh grassy and citrus hops with some herbal notes and a nice crisp smell. Medium-bodied; Grassy and very herbal flavours with some grapefruit, metal, resin and a touch pineapple at the end. Aftertaste is quite one-dimensional with some grassy and citrus hops, a touch of malt and a little dry finish. Overall, not a bad APA, just not great, missing some of the major notes of balance, complexity and a touch of the flavour profile that makes some better than others. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 06-December-2011 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 11-February-2012.

12 oz bottle purchased as part of a mix a six at Metcalf Discount on 91st in Overland Park, Kansas. Bottled on 07/08/11. Pour is a hazed orange yellow with a two inch light tan head. Head is very lasting, eventually falls rocky with nice lasting. Aroma is soft resin citrus sweet fruit and a touch of vegetal. Taste starts with a hop earthy vegetal sharpness, then opens up to some cracker malt and finishing with mineral and a bit more sweetness. As it warms, the citrus pulls back in nicely. Palate is medium bodied, nice unfiltered mouth feel, mineral dry finish - after taste exposes a bit more of the vegetal, though as this warms has a bit more of a natural earthiness to it. Nice drinkable beer.

Major-league citrus hop-bomb for a Pale Ale, and I see this brew was once labeled an IPA. Makes sense; Sweetgrass is an amazingly hop-centered pale ale, bitter yet full of grapefruit and quality herb, with just enough of a sweet backing to keep the bitterness in check. The malts offer a grainy, modest resistance to the IBUs, but this bottle is all about the greenage: from the Simcoe nose to the Cascade finish, Grand Teton has given us a deliciously over hopped Pale.

Purchased at Breeze Thru in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed on a Saturday night after plans canceled due to old man winter. Appearance is something like a fruit juice with a very frothy white head. Aroma of sweetness and crisp malts, also a slight amount of citrus hops. Taste is pretty good, somewhat smooth but also bitterly crisp. This reminds me of summer, which right now looks pretty sweet. Definitely enjoyable.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, fruity. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, lemon grass. Bottle from a trade with Chickencoop. Pours hazy burnt orange color with off white head. Floral hop aroma with some breadiness. Moderately bitter with some pine and sweet caramel flavors. Medium body with average carbonation. A nice APA. Thanks Jeremy.
