Nice rounded maltiness with earthy and citrus hops. Full bodied with nice carbonation. Light bitter feel on the finish that sticks around. Good but easily over powered. Still, id buy it again.

Draft. Nice everyday crisp IPA. Very clean, with straightforward citric hops (lemon), a bit floral too. Lightly sweet, bready malts back it up. Balanced finish.

Honeycomb and orange peel nose. Cloudy orange, medium yellow head, good lacing. Grapefruit flavor predominates, with a more bitter grapefruit peel and orange peel in the finish. Well blended celery notes appear as the glass warms. Well hopped with citrusy hops. Tastefully maltier when warm. Great IPA, not heavy, and quite bitter.

Bottle thanks to cavie. Pours with a hazy amber body and a fading off-white head. Aroma of light citrus and caramel. Taste is bitter and hoppy with some lemon/citrus and caramel. Medium carbonation. Did not notice the alcohol.

Courtesy of dkachur. Pours clear copper with gold edges and off white head. The aroma is pine mixing with caramel, sweet malts and a bit of esters that smell like cherry candy. The taste is full with a malty sweetness mixing with pine hop flavor and then moving toward modest hop bitterness and a sense of dark tea. For an IPA the hops are a little too subtle but tasty brew nonetheless.

I heard a rumor about this beer. I heard it was either trying to base itself on the old "New River Pale Ale" that was discontinued a few years back (sadly). Whether or not it’s true, I know that for me, this one beer is at least a good replacement, always awaiting the return of the real deal. Aroma is hops, citrus, florals. Flavor is crisp, clean bitter, hoppy, touch of malts. Very nice!

Aroma: Real nice, powerful nose, fresh/crisp citrus hops, pine
Appearance: Cloudy orange/red color, thin off-white head that dissipates quickly
Flavor: Crisp hoppy flavor, with a nice amount of bitterness
Palate: Good mouthfeel, medium body
Overall Impression: This is a pretty darn solid IPA, I enjoyed it. Had an especially great nose that made me really want to drink, flavor wasn't as great as the aroma, but it was a very nice beer.

Medium dark orange color with a dry hop haze under an lightly off-white head that lasts and lasts. Fresh citrus hop aroma. Good clean hop flavor and a malt/hop balance that is definitely on the bitter side. Not bad.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, VA. Northern Lights label. Pours a clear bronze color with a medium white head, average head retention and decent lacing. Bitter, resiny hop aroma with some citrus notes as well. Bitter, leafy hop taste with some resiny notes and a slightly sweet finish. Medium bodied.

On tap at the brewery on 05/09/2009. Somewhat hazy orange amber body with a medium frothy off-white head. Sweet floral and grassy hop aroma with a light pale malt background. Big grassy and floral hop flavor with a pale malt background. 7/3/7/3/13 - 3.3 03/31/2006: Cask at The Commercial Taphouse. Hazy amber color with a thick frothy off-white head. Sweet aromatic hops aroma. Light citrus bitter flavor with some sweetness in the end. 8/4/8/3/15 - 3.8
