12oz bottle shared. Murky orange-tan. Thin oily head laces the rim of the glass. Rich, thick, heavy caramel hop aroma. Pretty solid beer, very clean and spot on style-wise. Somewhat soapy and resinous, quite a balanced IPA, with some solid malt tones submerged in the orange. lemon hop wash. Pretty nice.

Mad Hatter, DC tap ($6): Pours a very nice light amber color with a straight up white head that lasts for quite a while (think it is because it was on draught). Aroma is of piny and floral hops. At first, the main thing that I got out of this beer was a lot of piny hops. Moderate bitterness. Not overkill. Then as it warmed up the citrus flavors became a little bit more apparent. Quite enjoyable

Nice super hazy caramel, copper coloured body with a potent glow and a nice tan head. Aroma of metal, feet, malt, alcohol, sugars and a decent amount of hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and floral hop flavour with a malt and caramel kick and a drying bitter finish - nice. Aftertaste shows a lot of hops, some alcohol, a touch of hay, some light spices and mostly a hoppy finish - very nice for the style. Overall, a very nice and relatively traditional American IPA - grassy hops throughout and a good dry, bitter finish - this is a nice drinking IPA for the summertime! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from a six pack, purchased at Harris Teeter in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia a few days ago on 08-June-2010.

draft @ OTH. light golden/amberish, thick white head. aroma, grassy, citrus and a mild malty nose. flavors, piney hops, lingering grapefruit. Some toasted malts, couldn’t help but get a kind of basement yeasty mouthfeel that did not settle well with this beer. Finishes of thick caramel with mild bitterness.
