Light, smooth, and refreshing, Summer Ale is pale gold in colour, and at 3.9% alcohol by volume, an excellent quaffing ale. It delivers a flavour most lagers can only dream of, thanks to its all-malt brew (containing malted wheat), and 100% Saaz hops, a Czech variety found in the best pilseners. Like Organic Honey Dew, it should always be served chilled.

Cask at Barrow Boy and Banker. Pale bright golden color, fine low head. Buttery, light nose, lager-like. Too light and thin over all, with diacetyl.

Cask at London’s Pride, Heathrow T2. It pours clear golden with a tiny white head. The nose is bready, grainy, cereal, dull caramel sweetness and honey. The taste is soft, sweetish grain, white bread, light honeyed cereal, grass and a touch of spice with a short, dryish finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Simple and not a lot to it. Sessionable, but pretty boring.

Sampled @ GBBF. Clear pale yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, slightly butter, lightly bitter, a faint hint of apple and fruitiness. Low to average body and carbonation.

Cask @ GBBF 2014. Smooth mild beginning. Quite refreshing with golden grainy hints. Nice mild and easy to drink. The aftertaste is smooth, mild. Fresh, golden, not too sweet. Nice!

Cask gravity at the Wandsworth summer beer fest.aroma is wet grass, English yeast and mineral. Golden light straw coloured pour lasting loose white head. Flavour is watery honey, wet grass hop and English yeast. Palate I’d thin, some slick, green apple tart.
