clear brown small white head. malts and caramel in the aroma. flavor is caramel, malts, a little bit of bitter hops, taste is sort of like if you mixed a pilsener and a brown ale, or like a sweet classic/vienna. the bohemia series was positioned in the supermarket as "good" beer, same shelf as leffe, and this one is in fact a notch up from the very poor level of beer i have found so far in the madeira supermarkets.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 2B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 3S28302131. AROMA: predominant sweet artificial caramel and corn aroma overwhelming a slight peppery and fruity note. APPEARANCE: dark ambar color and translucent. medium-low ivory head with average retention. TASTE: medium-low artificial caramel flavor with a corn presence of the same intensity. low bitterness with a slightly caramely and sweet finish. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: an amber lager with too much artificial caramel, giving it a sweet note.

Review based on the BA Guidelines (style European-Style Dark/Münchner Dunkel). Bottle 33cl - Batch 3442800371. AROMA: low and sweet corn like aroma, mixed with caramel notes (it has food coloring). No noble hop aromas. APPEARANCE: ruby color and very clear. thin and tanned head with average retention. TASTE: sweet malty or corn-like flavour with a very faint caramel note. medium-low bitterness and finishes medium-dry. no hop flavor. PALATE: medium-low body with medium-low carbonation. OVERALL: a bulk european dunkel that lacks a bit of malt complexity and has food coloring.

Bottle: Clear, deep ruby-brown with a thick tan head. Caramel, dark bread scent. Taste is sweet, rich caramel malt, a little chocolate. A bit light, but pretty nice towards style. Very pleasant.

Bottle. 1 week before drink by date. Reddish brown color, low fine head. Reasonable dunkel nose, caramel, chocolate fudge, some mineral. A bit corny and fake tasty, with caramel, too sweet, and chocolate. Still, not horrible. I think the age this one has on it has mellowed it and made it better that usual, though still way too sugary.

Clear red copper colour, two finger frothy off-white head, disappears after a while, good lacing. Sweet malty nose, brown sugar, caramel, hint of honey, orange peel, fruit syrup, citrus. Taste medium sweet, slightly bitter, caramel, bit toasted. Creamy texture, medium body, soft carbonation, mild and smooth bittersweet finish, bit toasty.
