Double IPA
Our take on the West Coast-style Double India Pale Ale, The Oracle places hop intensity first and foremost, making only the slightest concession to malt and balance.
The fireworks start with the aromatic punch of dry-hop sessions with hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest. Resinous, citrusy hop flavors mixed with aggressive bitterness from a massive kettle addition deliver on that aromatic promise.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle, bottled on July 10, 2015, from Sergio’s. Bright translucent orange with small white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops, medium/thick body, and good small bubble lacing. Taste is grapefruit hops, some dank, some herbal hope, some pine hops, some booze, and bitter finish. Quite flavorful, but heavier.

12 oz bottle from arminjewell. Nose is pine with mango and papaya changing to very tropical fruity as it is imbibed. Murky yellow orange with a medium off white head. Flavor is moderately bitter with malty and resinous notes. Good but not great compared to a lot of the newer brews.

"DIPA Ale"? Kinda redundant, no? 12 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Bottled 7/10/2015. Hazy orange with 1.5 fingers of off-white head. Aromas of grapefruit citrus, tropical fruit, caramel, light floral and pine. Tastes of grapefruit citrus, floral notes, tropical fruit, pine, big bitter hops. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel.

A lightly hazed golden DIPA with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with tropical fruits, citrus pulp, floral resinous hops, light sulfur notes, nice. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with loads of tropical fruits, pink grapefruit, floral resinous hops, very nice. Bottle at Syracuse Beer fest November 2014.

At a tasting, thanks Tom C, small stable bubbly head, a little hazy lightish orange colour, aroma of spice and orange marmalade, strong flavour of orange marmalade and orange peel, with a hint of spice strong and a bit coarse bitterness. One dimensional, much too old.
