Bottle. Clear, amber body. Frothy, off-white head, slowly diminishing. The aroma, thogh not overly strong, is dominated by the hops — orange, citrus, flowers, lemon. Beneath the hops are sweet, biscuit notes. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, syrupy texture and lively carbonation. The taste starts sweet and citrusy on the front of the tongue and turns very bitter on the backside. That combined with the syrupy body negate any juicy flavors. The beer is thick and the flavors are not well defined. Too bad it’s not cleaner.

Sampled at Great Lakes Brew Fest in Racine, WI. The way the line formed to try this beer I was anticipating losing my virginity for the second time after trying this. My cherry’s not popped but it’s good, aroma stinky hops, appearance caramel thin head, taste good and balanced hops and caramel malt, gets better as you drink.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy bitter caramel aroma. Smooth malty hoppy bitter grapefruit warming flavor. Has a smooth and long malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Tap @ Eccentric Cafe. Clear dark orange colour, off-white head. Aroma of pine hops. Some bitterness, with a malty backbone. Flavour is malty, resinous, bitter hops, flowery, grapefruit. Well balanced.

12 oz bottle, batch #9306. I MrBunn offered this in trade from W. Pennsylvania. Odd, I thought, since I’m closer to Bell’s than he was, but this did not make it to IL. So thanks! Big citrus & pineapple smell under the cap. In my IPA tulip, the smell spreads out with lessened intensity. Rocky, lacy, whitish head over a dark, cloudy IPA body. Taste is sharp, prickly and fruity bitterness that hits you like pangs of regret from taping a Hawks playoff game over your wedding video. Despite the alcohol, I can’t help but drink this right on down. Its malt is nicely sweet, little dry balance, and the hops are too busy making the drinker think sad thoughts to worry about matching up to the malts. Slight earthiness at the end belies the possibility this is a bit overaged. Still, lots of fresh hop flavor to go around, that’s why bottles have caps on ’em.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of madvike. Thanks! Pours a hazy peach color with a medium sized creamy barely offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Nice fresh hoppy aroma with lots of citrus and floral notes as well as some tropical fruits. Taste is very bitter and very hoppy... resin, floral, tropical and citrus notes as well as a dry spicy bite reminiscent of rye. This seems just a bit unbalanced and like it could be put together a bit better, but it’s overall more than decent. Medium-full bodied with a lingering hop burn.
