Eight different malts were used to make this balanced Mild. Hints of caramel and chocolate are layered in this modern interpretation of a classic British style. A rich dark colour with a dry finish.

Cask @ Exchange Ale House, Bradford. Brown coloured with an amber glow. Stated dark malt mild, although certainly only a mild in design. Aroma and taste solid for this style.

Pours mid brown, looks dark brown in the glass with reddish hints if seen through light. Good and quite dense off-white head, decent retention and good enough lacing. Nice malty depth in the aroma, with nuttiness taking a slight edge over notes of toffee, caramel, chocolate plus a hint of coffee; there's also a green/balsamic hint on the back of things that gives it a slightly refreshing feel. Taste is a bit different from what the smell suggested, with caramel now taking the main stage and other malty notes more subdued. Everything is mild as it should be but there's relatively high caramelly sweetness in the overall balance, with a touch of dark malts acidity showing up in finish and aftertaste, which is drier than usual per style. Quite light bodied as obvious but doesn't feel watery, light to medium carbonation, feels decently smooth. Overall a fair, slightly more modern take on the style.

can at home from tilquin english beer fest. Pours dark redish brown, small yet stable creamwhite head. Scent is tad roasty, very gentle and balanced, light and inviting. Taste is quite full, with a robust bitterness, and an outspoken (dark) maltyness, providing dark bread with notes of coffe crispyness. earthy hoparoma cuddles the palate even more. Enjoyable, as is to be expected, but it's always a pleasure to find another dark mild !
