0.5 l can from ''t Biermenneke', best before September 2023. Clear, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit roasty aroma of caramel, raisins and nuts. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity and gently roasty taste of caramel, cocoa, toasted nuts and some raisins, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a bit dry finish. Thin to medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice Mild Ale, much better than most examples of the style.

Hand pumped at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown, with some beautiful reddish reflections, and very fine whitish foam. Aroma is earthy, malty and a little fudge. Body is average, very smooth, easy drinking, practically flat. Taste is medium sweet, maybe a little more sweetish and earthy in the final.

Can bought at A Hoppy Place, Windsor. Aroma had cacao with a berry edge. Dark opaque brown. Thick fluffy foamy beige head. Medium bitter. Cacao and coffee with added spice. The latter also compliments the tart berry edge. The berries are prominent through into the finish. Underlying caramel moreso into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Slips down but has pep.

Cask at Cellar, Chester. Pours a dark ruby with a small cream head. Malts are prominent in the aroma with hints of fruits and nuts. In the mouth it is sweet and creamy with malts again dominating. Some traces of autumn fruits, stone fruits and chocolate. Finish is still sweet, but less so. A respectable Manchester Mild.
