Hopfen und Malz, Gott erhalt's; say the German. And they are absolutely right.:). This is a German style wheat beer originating from Bavaria. While most wheat beers are very pale, "white" , this style uses also dark malts. So you get all the joy from both sides: a wheat beer and a dark beer in one. Who wishes for more?
Wheat beers made in Deutschland follow the strict rules of the 500 years old beer law Das Reinheitsgebot. Jawohl. Or in English without breaking your non-existent tongue-bone: The Purity Law. According to which beer not pure -and therefore not a beer-, if it contains anything other than water, yeast, malted grains and hops. Fortunately, malted grains can be other than barley, like wheat in this case (which is minimally 50% of the total grain bill for German style wheat beers).
Very strict law. Indeed.

But we are not in Germany:). We can be creative, thank you Vietnam for some ingredients.

Zum Wohle!
