The incredibly subtle, elegant and mellow flavour of Oude Geuze VAT 91 has its origins in foeder No. 91, which used to be a calvados vat in Normandy. Today this foeder is creating excellent, mild Lambic beer, perfect for Oude Geuze. VAT 91 is soft, rounded, full-bodied, complex and balanced.

375 ml corked bottle at Polar, Madrid. It pours very hazy golden to amber, off-white head. Aroma is intense: strawberry, apple, lemon drop, cider. You can tell it's been aged in Calvados casks for sure. Mouthfeel is bone-dry, stouter than most gueuzes. Very tart leading to a dry, long finish. Fan-f***ing-tastic.

Taster showing pale amber with sparse white foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of brett and light apple and barnyard door. The palate is well carbonated and lightly bodied. Moderately tart with moderately intense flavors of brett and a mild hoppy bitterness on the finish.
