Oude Geuze VAT 110 has foeder No. 110, a cognac storage vat in a previous life, to thank for its light dry but exceptionally full-bodied taste, finished with a hint of vanilla and dry fruit. This Oude Geuze is epitomised by a wealth aromas, cultivated by the wild Brett yeasts in the vat.

Sample at ZBF 2018, thanks Belgian RB table. Dorée sur effet paille léger trouble, col fin blanc. Profile classique de gueuze Boon, grand côté fruité agrumes et citronné, léger fleuri avec excellent fini de boisé. Funk, sur effervescence moyenne-haute, un alcool qui se laisse sentir. Au final, les différences entre tous ces batchs sont faibles, la série reste solide.

Dark golden colour with no head. Aroma and flavour have tart green grapes and Granny Smith apple. Nice balance of sweet and sour.

Hazy orange colour, minimal off-white head which disappears quickly leaving back only some minimal lacing; aroma of balsamic acid, lemon zest, tannines, wood barrel used for ages, dry cirer made from unripe sour green apple, some barnyard, earthy, leather and animal-horseblanket notes; taste of citruses, acetic acid and acetone notes, dry cider and woody-tannine notes; excellent gueuze

Sampled @ Zythos Bier Festival 2018. A hazy orange golden beer. Aroma of tart orange fruits, zest, brett. Taste of tart fruits, grapes, zest, nice.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is red apples, hay, citrus, leathery. Taste is red apples, cognac, some barrel flavours, good amount of complexity, bone dry. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very good!

Bottled 375ml. -from Bierhalle Deconinck brought by kajser27, thanks. Orange/golden coloured, small to medium sized white head that went away fast, leather and lemon in the nose. Wet wood, leather, lemon and light earthy with dry tartish finish. Really nice.

Bottle at Dan's 10K, thanks to Dan. It pours clear orange - amber with a thick, foamy white head. The aroma is soft, fresh, bright, Granny Smith apple, lemon, zingy gooseberry and sherbet. The taste is crisp, dry, clean, tart, sherbet, lime, lemonade, tangy limeade and funk with a soft, dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Quite mellow actually. Nice, but doesn't have the dynamism of the VAT 108.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out earthy barnyard funk, leather, and light cardboard. Flavour is wonderfully dry, with earthy barnyard funk, leather, a bit of cardboard, and more leather. Wonderful funk and complexity. Lovely.
