aroma of belgian white nougat with nuts, caramelly sweet. very weird very sweet aroma flavor is liquid belgian white nougat with nuts, sweet caramel, faint sweet spices, faint hops, half belgian nougat dissolved in half belgian blonde might yield this flavor. This beer would be great poured over vanilla icecream, or perhaps as an ingredient in pancakes. After having gotten used to the beer, and after the bottle has been open for a few hours, the beer settles a bit and begins to taste like a sweet strong belgian beer, just a bit more smooth.

75cl bottle, Le Village de la Biere, Strasbourg. Hazy golden with a thin, lingering white head. Sweet, gently fruity aroma. Flavour was malty and sweet again, yeasty and, ever so slightly sour. Goodish, but not great.

Bottle, 75cl corked. Almost clear pour, except for some micro-floates, golden in color, and a small, white head on top. The aroma started quite rubbery, then some malt and fruityness appeared. The rubber were present in the flavor as well, else it was sweet and malty. Dusty, medium full mouthfeel. The beer opened up a bit after a while, but the rubber was too evident for the beer to score higher. (070914)

(Bottle 75 cl) The abbey-thing with abbeys being paid by breweries for letting them use their names has apperently spread to France as well, where strong abbey-beers are popular. Blond, slightly sweetish with a rather full head. Very classical for it’s type, but nothing special. 160304
