Bottled. A hazy dark brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, bread, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, wood, and alcohol, leading to a dry woody finish, where the alcohol burns the tongue.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Pours a cloudy orangey brown with a dense beige head leaving some laces. Aroma of overripe fruit, yeast and alcohol. Solid body, lots of raisins and overripe dark fruits with a burning alcohol finish. Very chewy and hard to digest. 140910

Bottle Vintage 2008 Thanks to JohnGalt1. Pours out a nice brown topped with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, pit fruit, vanilla, caramel, and a little nut. Taste is more of the sweetness brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, spice, and the vanilla. This beer has a ton of great things going on for it.

2008 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. I am calling bull on the 14.3 % ABV, it is no where to be felt or found. Pours with a huge, brown head and a hazy brown body. Good retention and great lacing. A few floaties. Aroma of pear, candi sugar, dark fruits, alcohol, apple, spice (licorice or anise), and a touch of oak. Taste is rich with candi sugar, chocolate, dirt, caramel and a bit of wine. No alcohol but slightly metallic. Syrupy mouthfeel. Not really a strong Cabernet Savignon presence at all. The barrel aging is really not well pronounced.

bottle at Ft Wayne locals tasting courtesy of jsquire, who really brought the Alaskan goods to our tasting - Pours dark amber with a huge head. It smells of a dark fruit accented malt with a whole lot of licorice. The flavor is sweet malt, dark fruit, and again the anise notes are prominent. It’s full bodied and there’s some alcohol noticeable in there too, which isn’t at all surprising at over 14% abv. It’s enjoyable now but some age might do it good.
