80 Shilling is Belhaven’s classic, hand-pulled, cask-conditioned ale - just like great great great grandpa would have had. It has a classic red appearance in the glass, rich and smooth. An Austrian Emperor once described 80/- as ’the burgundy of Scotland’. Not sure how many he’d had, but the man clearly had taste.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A dark amber beer with a thin light tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet mlaty with notes of caramel and toffee as well as hints of wood, leading to a dry and rather bitter finish where the toffee note lingers.

Cask. Clear copper colour. The flavour has a little nut, and some sourness. On the brink of being off? Thin mouthfeel.

(Bottle 50 cl) 3.9% ABV in my version. Neat, clear, dark amber with a handsome, thick, creamy off-white head that leaves some pretty lacing. Malty aroma with a wee hint of smoke. Very light-bodied but with heaps of flavours, lovely malty, roasted notes and a smoky touch. Impressivily full-flavoured for such a "small" beer. 101105
