Bottle at Waagstuk, Antwerp, Belgium Nose of flowers and herbs and alcohol. Frothy, white head, which lasts mostly. Flat yellow body. Lightly bitter initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Fully bodied.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautifully, hazy amber with a huge, pretty head. Extremely full-bodied with a potent alcohol-burn. Some vague spices, but the yeast adds most of the flavour. A solid but not very refined brew. 240197

Bottled (BB 10/2006)
Very pale yellow, slightly hazy color with steadt small foamy head. Rubbery fruity aroma of mashed apples and pears dominates, hops and lime underlying there. Quite light-bodied for this high ABV, easy to drink, citrusy and fruity but hard mouthfeel. Palate does not show its 9 % but alcohol kicks in the aftertaste. Dissapointing brew.

This is a truly marvelous beer. One of my staples at the Sharp Edge in Pittsburgh. Sampled again on draft this brew pours a straw yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet and fruity with just a hint of a pleasant sour tang. The flavor is sweet and tangy with a light fruit flavor that yields to a yeastiness on the finish. There is a rather thick mouthfeel. Overall one of my favorite Belgian drafts.

Blonde, with soft visible carbo. Slight haze, though served just a hair below cellar temp. Voluminous white head. Aroma is slightly bready, slightly plasticy (I've long felt this brewery's yeast is just plain dirty). Hints of mint & fennel have slightly interfered with what I've expected in this brew. Palate is heavy-sitting with oil and alcohol, sour rambutans, odd herbs. Slight lime note is a distraction (so much so that I swear my mind's palate drifted from lime to lyme). Finishes sweet. As van Steenberge goes, this is relatively complex but overall there are too many odd things here and I'm still not a fan.

The aroma is very sweet with notes of spices, lemon, oranges, and yeast. The color is a hazy orange and it has a beutiful huge though collapsing white head. The flavor is dominated by sweetness combined with a mixture of spices, I think corriander is one, a quite nice combination of sweetness and spicyness. In the middle the alcohol runs prickling over the tongue. In the end the spicyness turns woody dry with a slight hoppyness to it. The mouthfeel is a little thin in the beginning, but when the alcohol kicks in it is great. A quite nice beer - one of the better Triples on my tastebuds.

Blond color; incredibly giant and creamy head. Malty and spicy aroma, dry (the classic coriander). Good body structure, not too much sweet not bitter; a light sour note and wood touch, peculiar in a Triple..

Slightly hazy golden color, large lasting head, frothy, rocky. Spicy and fruity aroma. Bit sweet, apple. Bit yeasty taste, also spicy and sweet. Dry quite alcoholic palate. Almost a bit like white wine.

Bottled. Golden coloured and very lively with rich head. Strong aroma of dried fruit and good, dry cider. Sweet and malty with clean, hard malt profile. The finish is drier and rounded, still fruity, and with grassy bitterness.
