Yeastie Boys' Gunnamatta utilises judicious amounts of Earl Grey Blue Flower tea to generate an intoxicating floral and citrus aroma with the quenching dry finish of an ice tea. A truly unique new world India Pale Ale with a decidedly old world twist.

Bottle. Glowing orange-red, clear. Low head. Lovely herbal, floral, fruity nose. You do get Earl Grey tea, plus grasses and herbs and citrus. Very original and lovely nose. Caramel malts, light chocolate, Earl Grey, grassy. Rich malts. Rather light. Good original beer.

Bottle consumed in honor of 3fourthsβ kiwi trip, to wish him luck and beerspeed. Murky amber brown color, large cram colored head, solid lacing. Aroma of dried tea leaves, dusty pineapple. Taste is herbal and bitter, almost iced tea in the finish. Strange but pleasant. Enjoy, Michael!

Bottle shared by Marcus. Poured light copper with a fizzy/creamy beige head. Aroma is very Earl Grey. Even the leafy aspect. Med body. Flavor is Earl Grey with a little caramel. Good stuff , but shockingly different.

Bottle from City Beer SF, August 2013. Darker orange with a medium white head. This was a special one, the taste reminded a lot of a finnish drink called "Sima". Yeast, soap, lemon and some dried fruit. Quite refreshing, ok.

(Bottle) Hazy amber with annoyingly ridiculously large fairly loose head. Lovely aroma - sweet oranges and tea. Excellent palate - medium body with refreshing carbonation. Tangy orangey foretaste with sweet malt to balance; then the tea and hop flavours develop providing a dry and reasonably bitter finish. Overall an unusual beer, but for me the tea worked well in the aroma, but rather less so in the taste

Dangerous beach, that one. Bottle. Hazy amber with a large white head - the last of the bottle has tea leaves. Aroma of orange, grapefruit, tea. Not that keen on Earl Grey as tea, but it fits into the aroma rather nicely. Lightish bodied with highish carbonation. Taste is modestly sweet with a little honey and hay supporting sweet and bitter citrus flavours. Dry with blossomy citrus flavours and tea at the end. Liked this much better than the sample I tried at GABS, possibly due to it having gone a bit flat then. A well-executed curiosity.

Pours dark amber with a large, lasting head.Nose shows overt floral notes along with some tropical fruit (lychee, papaya). Nice herbal chamomile-like notes too. Underneath is a fair bit of clean malt.Herbal tea notes are very pronounced as flavours too, almost becoming a bit astringent. Some soft fruit is noticeable underneath as well as pleasing clean malt.A bit too much tea but pretty solid.

From a 330ml bottle on 10/10/2012.Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange with a big fluffy white head. The aroma is dominated by strong Earl Grey tea with a light fruity background. In the mouth, there is both sweet and tart citrus fruit, a hint of grapefruit, and heaps more Bergamot orange/Earl Grey tea flavour. The bitterness is medium to high, and sticks around well after it goes down the hatch. This is an extremely unusual, impressive and delightful brew.
