Commercial description:
Piraat Tripel Hop is een licht amberkleurig bier van hoge gisting met nagisting op fles en op vat. De smaak is uitgesproken hoppig en bevat een droge afdronk. 4 extra hopsoorten worden toegevoegd aan de klassieke Piraat en de selectie hiervan verandert elk jaar in functie van de beschikbaarheid van de hopvarianten. De toevoeging gebeurt tijdens 3 verschillende fases, waarvan 1 door middel van dry-hopping, waarbij de hop (Cascade) wordt toegevoegd in de lagertank tijdens het rijpen.

Bottle shared at THT. Hazy darker golden with white head. Lots of sweet malts, light alcohol, fruity hops with some citrus and peach, light grassy. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied with soft alcoholic finish.

Sampled from bottle at THT October. Clear dark golden. White head. Sweet malts, very yeasty, parfumey aromatic hops. Medium sweet, and bitter. Medium body, strong alcoholic. Ok.

Bottle thanks to Nihtila. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - tangy Tripel notes. Taste - dried orange, green stalks then dry tangy citrus again on the finish. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy and bitter finish. Overall - quite a bitter version of the Abbey Tripel style.

bottle @ supermarket (budapest) amber colour, strong body, normal carbonated, sweet taste, fruity, hoppy in the end. excellent belgian strong ale!

Bottle from Hoogvliet supermarket in Monster, Nr Hoek of Holland. Netherlands, consumed on-board Stena Britannica or Hollandica (not sure which) Captains Suite room on way home, Friday 1st July 2016. Hazy amber with a white head. It’s a little sweet but the hops do show, I guess that it is clinging to the hop and craft beer coattails where others have led and it is probably looking at the success of the Duvel Tripel Hop Series and aiming to seek a bit of that glory. It’s not bad at all, it a good beer, just a little too sweet. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Flesje gedeeld. Rood - geel bier. Aroma van sinaasappel en hop. Smaak is fruitig en hoppig met een hint van sinaasappelschil. Hoppige smaak blijft lang hangen.

Samen met m’n schoonfamilie aan het genieten tijdens een familieweekend. Het bier is goudbruin van kleur, ruikt lekker hoppig. Het schuim is wel snel weg.
