Arctos 5% New World Brown Ale comes from the Greek Arktos, meaning bear. What name would better suit a grizzly New World brown ale? The hops are huge and powerful, charging forth with pine and grapefruit. The body is mahogany in colour, with a robust malt base carrying notes of nuts and chocolate for an enveloping warm sweetness.

Cask @ Crowns Posada, Newcastle. Clear dark red/brown with a small white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, pine and some chocolate. Taste of caramel, malts and chocolate underneath a proper dose of grapefruits, pine and lemons. Low to moderate bitterness. Low carbonation. Very balanced. I’m not too keen on adding modern hops to every beer style there is but I think this one worked really well. Excellent.
