Aarhus Bryghus Celebration at 6,5 % alc. was produced for our 5-years anniversary in 2010. It is something as unusual as a bottom-fermented IPA.

The hops are German Perle and Cascade, English Fuggles and East Kent Goldings. The hops combined, creates a velvety, pleasant bitterness, just when the beer enters the mouth. Afterwards comes a taste balance of the of hops and darker malts.

We find this beer suitable for strongly, flavored meat dishes.

The beer is mild and pleasant, without beeing a hop bomb.

Hand bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Clear pale amber. Aroma of viola and menthe. Very sweet with medium-full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Doughy with some spicy, floral hops. Medium bitterness. A solid, fruity strong ale.

Bottled 0,6 ltr (Mallaskukko, BB 09/2011)
Clear amber-copper color, small, mostly vanishing head. Caramelly, ryeish, resiny hoppy aroma. Medium-bodied. Piney hoppy flavor, some resin and caramel. Low carbonation. Decent hoppy strong ale. Probably one of the better Aarhus beers.

600 ml bottle, as Aarhus Bøgeøl, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 6.5%. Deep golden to amber colour, large white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, berry notes, hints of toffee. The flavour is medium sweet and malty, but also with distinct notes of fruity hops, again with a touch of berries and toffee. "Dusty" aftertaste. Quite nice beer.

Copper color, bright; medium sized head. Mild but pleasant aroma of caramel, toffee and grains; light hops. The mouthfeel is medium-dry; caramel flavor with a touch of cereals; the absence of a more evident fruity fermentation makes me think of a Bock, not an English Ale; it has a correct bitterness level and the final is also a bit nutty (roasted nuts). Easy but drinkable.

Bottle, courtesy of HenrikSoegaard. As Bøgeøl. A clear, golden beer with a minimal off-white head. The aroma is fruity, with some spiced herbal notes. Quite pleasant. The flavor is quite nice too, at least considering to what I expected. A bit sweet maybe, but with enough bitterness, fruityness and citrusy flavors to balance it. Medium to full body and nice carbonation. Citrusy finish with a little herbal hint. Quite nice, a beer worth repeating. 100814
