Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Hazy brown. After Eight mint falvour. Some choc. Good, even though it shouldn’t be. And I ended up liking the mint.

Bottle brought by Ungstrup - Cheers Jens. Cloudy brown beer. Little tan head. Rich malt with a little Christmassy spice. Subtle chocolate. Very nice X-Mas beer.

Bottled@The Chriso rock the roof down pre-GBBF tasting. Amber colour, very close to black, with small off-white head. Aroma is spices, liquorice, some fruits, wood and mild alcohol. Flavour is quite much the same, a very mellow and wellaged beer.

50 cL bottle, huge thanks to Ungstrup! Pours dark brown with a huge chocolate brown head. Dark spiced cardemomme aroma, dark roasted malty nose. Smooth roasted, dark malty and nicely spiced. Bitter, slight acidic and smooth roasted in a nice blend. Bitter and roasted finish with a lovely integrated note of cinnamon, ginger, cardemomme and cloves. Smooth far finish with a light citric note. I wonder if the citric notes are what is left from the orange peel. Spices are really wellintegrated in this wonderful 4 year old brew.

500ml bottle enjoyed at home a year after I bought it when it was first released at Ølbutikken in Copenhagen. I remember that I was not allowed to buy more than three bottles - of course the Danes can not have Norwegians coming to take away limited editions of some of the best ales in Denmark.
This ale is all about Yuletide. On the bottle neck there can be found a red cap with a white top (full score in appearance!) The pour reveals a clear and deep palisander coloured body complemented by a tiny beige head. Sharp smell of pine needles mixed with anise. Heavy spiciness in flavour with cardamom, ginger, a good amount of liquorice and a touch of cinnamon. Bittersweet end. Medium bodied. Very dry mouthfeel. Classic Yuletide in one bottle (15.12.2006).

Bottle 0,5l. Aroma of spice - and pine. A brownish head - disappearing in a couple of minutes. Dark brown coloured. Very rich flavour with sourish spices dominating. A long dry bitter finish with spicy undertones. Thanks to Rune for this Christmas gift (almost one year ago). This beer is in the same league as Nøgne-Ø’s Underlig Jul: All the Christmas smells and tastes in one bottle.
