[500ml bottle shared with Dad on 15/8/2009 - cheers!] Amber-bronze, moderate off-white head. Slight to moderate fizz actually works surprisingly well. Deep, rich earth and malt flavour with a good bitter finish. Immensely satisfying, the sort of beer you can quickly sink a pint of after a hard days work. For a pasturised beer, this is surprisingly similar (apart from the stronger carbonation) to the cask version. [re-rate 25/12/2009 - gift from Maureen & Dave - cheers!] Rather too fizzy, decent malt, citric bitterness. Not as good as I remember, but a good quaffing ale and better than you’d expect for a pasteurised bitter.

Cask @ The Coal Hole, Strand WC2. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty aroma with some citrus hoppy hints. Sweetish fruity malty citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty smooth hoppy bitter finish.

From cask. Pours slight cloudy and yellow with a fully gone head. Mild citric and hoppy aroma. Mild butterish and smooth hoppy base flavour. Bitter and light fruity hoppy finish. Smooth and malty to hoppy light finish.
