MarTacadam – quirky tribute to 1802 resident John McAdam, whose ideas saw Bristol make the greatest advances in road construction since Roman times, providing smooth, stable, dust-free roads, (the principles of which we are still using today) commonly known as “macadamisation”. It felt fitting to brew a smooth, dark Porter – and not just because it was the favoured brew of British Transportation workers, but because it is said that a Porter was the first truly engineered beer!

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 16/2/2017. Deep brown in colour, with a frothy, tan, head. Aroma of brown sugar, cocoa and toasty malts. Easy drinking with chocolate sweetess, rich malts and a touch of coffee, before a gentle, toasty, finish. Very good.
