bottle, thanks madsberg. cloudy light brown, small white head. barley wineish aroma, dry and not very hoppy. flavor is very good. alc. well hidden, sweet dry and malty, hops are faded though, raisins, toffee. not my favourite kind of barley wine but seems like it’s high quality.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of madsberg. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Intense overripe fruit, caramel and nuts in the nose. Surprisingly the alcohol is not too evident up there. Medium body, quite some wood and Bourbon, a little salt, caramel and nuts. The alcohol really come through in the finish. 090710

Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with no head. The aroma has strong notes of over ripe fruits, alcohol, and bourbon, as well as some wood and malt. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of alcohol and over ripe fruits, as well as medium notes of wood, bourbon, caramel, and malt, leading to a dry finish, where the alcohol dries out the tongue. Thanks madsberg for sharing.

Aroma: Smells awesome, caramel, oak, bourbon and brown sugar

This was a great beer. The alcohols were hidden good, I’m surprised to see it is 15%.

Bottle from Beverages4Less. Pours cola color with very little tan head. Nice, aged, cooked caramel aroma. Very full bodied with mild carbonation. There is heat, but largely toffee. Finishes sweet, but not excessively so. There’s wood and vanilla. Very nice sipper.

Thanks ibre2or3. Dave, you once again brought out a great barley to the table. Bottle of 2004-05, pours copper with beige head and ice yellow lacing. Aroma full fledged bourbon with good notes of malts and wood. Taste of light caramel and chocolate malty, filled with bourbon, making it an amazing beer. Light caramel with the 14.7% abv remaining very hidden. Nose plus mouthfeel is just out of this world. Words cannot do the beer justice as it was really hard to put this one down.
